Meet our new County President.

At the 118th DCGU Annual General Meeting, Bernie Munroe of Houghton-le-Spring GC became the 37th President of Durham County Golf Union.

Seen here receiving his badge of office from the County’s Senior Past-President, and fellow Houghton-le-Spring member, Ted Kirtley, Bernie expressed his gratitude at being given the immense honour and privilege of serving the clubs and golfers of County Durham as their President for the next 2 years.

Bernie already has some understanding and experience in the role and work ahead, after he unexpectedly had to take on the duties of President following the terrible loss of our President, Gerry Johnson, last year. This was an unwanted and unenviable responsibility, which Bernie carried out magnificently well.
