The scoring across the field highlighted the stern test presented by Heworth Golf Club. Of the 120 players who took part, only four managed to return scores better than their handicap, underlining the quality and difficulty of the course and the challenge it posed throughout the competition.
The Durham County Golf Union would like to extend its sincere thanks to the members and committee of Heworth Golf Club for generously allowing the use of their excellent course and clubhouse facilities. Their support and hospitality helped ensure the event was a great success and enjoyed by all who participated.
